The Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for the Bill of Materials (BOM) for Valve production playing a key role in ensuring that all necessary components, materials, and resources are accurately identified, sourced, and organised for the efficient assembly and manufacturing of Valves. This individual will work closely with engineering and production teams to compile comprehensive BOM’s ensuring that all parts are available, correctly specified, and aligned with quality and production standards. About the role:
The Manufacturing Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of Bill of Materials Builds (BOM) . This is a standalone position that will report directly to the Managing Director. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process and the ability to solve problems and ensure high levels of quality and efficiency.
- Selecting new suppliers to reduce deliver times and/or increase profitability
- Checking costing from suppliers on past orders
- Checking costing of manufactured items to ensure profitability is maintained
- Adjusting the sell prices according to BOM costings, as required
- Ordering parts for BOM orders as required and in appropriate time frames for successful delivery
- Strong mechanical or engineering background within a manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and Bill of Materials Management
- Strong problem solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communications skills and a proactive approach to management of workload
- Basic Computer skills
About you:
A degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering or a related field or previous experience in a manufacturing or production planning role, with a focus on BOM’s and materials management is desirable.
You will bring demonstrated success and enthusiasm in providing exceptional manufacturing experience to ensure a quality product for our customers.
The successful candidate must demonstrate –
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawing and specifications
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Strong presentation skills and professional appearance
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to be flexible and adaptable
- Knowledge of inventory management and material sourcing
Additionally, you will be;
- Experienced in Valve manufacturing or related industries is a plus
- The ability to perform routine and non-routine tasks with an eye for small details and a high degree of accuracy
- The ability to work independently and exercise initiative within the appropriate scope of the role
- A work ethic which includes a willingness to learn and undertake professional development activities including on the job training and training with professional associations
- Evidence and experience using a range of computing software, including databases and MS Office applications
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to juggle competing demands, ensuring that deadlines are met
- Ability to work cooperatively and respectfully with others from various backgrounds and cultures
